Weekend tour in Aremenia

Day 1

Arrival at Yerevan. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Check-in. Free (leisure) time at the hotel.

Day 2
Yerevan City Tour

Breakfast at the hotel. Familiarization tour over Yerevan – the capital of Armenia. Visit the Cascade, a giant stairway. The exterior of Cascade, in addition to stairs has multiple levels with fountains and sculptures like the ones of Botero.The history of Yerevan dates back to 782 BC and it is one of the oldest cities in the world (Yerevan is 29 years older than Rome). We will start the visit of the city with the History Museum of Armenia.
The archeological exhibits in the museum include collections dating from 100,000-12,000 BC of Paleolithic era and one of the extraordinary exhibits is world’s oldest known leather shoe, which was found in an Armenian cave.

The Cascade Complex

Visit to the Museum and Memorial complex of Genocide to pay the last honors to the victims of
Armenian genocide in 1915 in Turkey.

Day 3

Tsaghkadzor – Dilijan – Haghartsin – Sevan – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to Tsaghkadzor.

Tsaghkadzor

Tsaghkadzor literally means valley of flowers or flower canyon in Armenian. The name of Tsaghkadzor is associated with the name of the nearby Tsaghkunyats Mountains, located to the west of the town.Originally, it was known as Tsaghkunyats Dzor by its foundation during the 3rd century. In the 11th century, the town was known as Kecharuyk or Kecharis derived from the Kecharis Principality under the Armenian Pahlavuni family.
Trip to Surrounded by a heavily forested area of mountains, Dilijan is a popular resort town, famous for its mineral water. Visit Haghartsin (10-13 th cc.) monastic complex – nestled in a temperate rainforest on a mountainside. Then drive to Sevan Lake. It is the largest lake in Armenia and one of the bigest alpine lakes of the world. Here we see the monastery of the Holy Apostles called Sevanavanq which was founded in 874 by Princess Mariam Bagratuni. Return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel.
